I’m beyond excited, thrilled, happy, ecstatic, overjoyed, delighted, pleased, tickled, elated and grateful to FINALLY announce the upcoming arrival of my sweet baby cousin, Lyn-Dee!! My aunt Lori and uncle Tom have been waiting for Lyn-Dee for over four years. For those of you that are familiar with foreign adoptions, you know that it can take more than a few months. (Except for Brangelina…don’t even get me started on that.) They started the paper chase in March of 2005. Their papers were officially logged in China March 24, 2006. Needless to say, Tom and Lori have been waiting patiently for this baby for a very long time. Many hiccups and obstacles have come up during the past four years (one being that all of their paperwork and progress was lost in Hurricane Katrina!) but their unshakable faith and upbeat personalities have prevailed…because today, all of their prayers have been answered. We finally have a photo and real information on their baby. Meet Lyn-Dee.
Isn’t she the most gorgeous thing you have ever seen?!?!? I can’t wait to squeeze those little cheeks!!!!! This exciting news is very fresh and new, so I don’t have all the details. They know that she is 17 months old and her Chinese name is Long, Jia Qing. In China, the last name is first and the “Q” is pronounced “CH”. All I know is that I just want to hold those little fingers! Tom and Lori don’t know when she will arrive in the States yet. They will be moving forward with their plans to go to China and pick her up. My biggest hope, prayer and wish is that I’m standing in Charlotte’s airport when they land with her. My camera will be aimed and ready. You better believe I will get every shot of her emotional homecoming. Lyn-Dee, we’ve all been praying for your arrival for a long time, we can’t wait to meet you sweetie! Congratulations Tom and Lori…I don’t know anyone else who deserves this as much as you two do. You will make the most amazingly awesome-cool parents a baby girl could have.
