And the Album Drops…

Finally! I’ve been waiting and waiting and teasing and waiting and scheming how I could debut this very special project. Not only for my current and future clients, but for my family. A while back, you met Lyn-Dee. She is an extremely special girl who our family has been waiting for what seems like forever. Catch up on her story here. She finally arrived home on November 5, 2009. Many of you followed my family’s story and let me share a few sneak peek photos of her first weekend home. I’ve had the majority of the photos sitting on my computer waiting to be processed. Over the last two months, I’ve had bits and pieces of time to finish them, but still wasn’t satisfied by just blogging about them. I needed to do something more – I mean, this was a special child!

As I was also pondering my current business plan, I decided I wanted more products to offer my clients. My first big product blog debut was that fantastic, customized CD case. (LOVE IT!) But as I explored more product options, I also fell in-love with album design (thanks to the The Album Cafe). And then it hit me….Lyn-Dee’s photos of her first weekend at home and my first album were the perfect marriage! And so the project began. And talk about an emotional first little project. It took my breath away when it finally arrived on my door step.

The book pages are printed on 110# hinged paper in semi-gloss. The hinged paper allows open pages to lay flat as well as provides a thicker, more upscale feel to the book. I was beyond impressed! Not to mention the adorably sweet face that was gracing every page!! I custom designed the book cover and back as well. This project was such a joy to work on, I think you can tell I had a ball putting it together.

The majority of our family is pretty spread out over the east and west coast, not to mention the little mid-westernites like me! So I wanted to post a few of the pages from the album. It won’t be quite like having the book in your hands, but it’s the best virtual sneak peek that you’re going to get.

Keep in mind that each spread that you see is actually 10×20.

Welcome Home Lyn-Dee!

This was her faithful entourage.

I think the page below was the best one to put together. And it’s actually backwards. Uncle Tom coming through the terminal is on the left hand side and our FIRST glimpse of Lyn-Dee is on the right. These photos are very blurry, as I was snapping photographs through tears and shaky hands. 🙂

She grew so much in that first weekend at home. It was amazing to see the changes in her in just three days. I know I’ve thanked you before, but I want to thank U Tom and A Lori again for allowing us to share your incredible journey. I’m so glad your China Doll is finally home. We love you Lyn-Dee. 🙂

I’m very excited to be able to offer this customized product for my clients and my family. Trust me, it will be an item that you will never forget about and will have a hard time putting away. Contact me for print pricing and packages. megan@mnrphotography.com. Be safe out there today. Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!

Elizabeth - Hi, Meg! I’m stopping over because Allison linked to your blog in mentioning her e-photos, and then I noticed a link about adoption and stopped by here (I’m also adopted!). Your photos are lovely!
