Meet Jonah!

Hold on to your seat…you’re going to get lost in these endless baby blues! I sure did! When I met Jonah and his GORGeous family bright and early over the 4th of July Holiday, I knew we were going to have a great session for a number of reasons: 1) The family looked STUNNING! Not everyone can be that camera ready for a sunrise session. 2) It was a little cloudy with a few distant thunder rumbles brewing and coming our way (that might sound bad) but makes for fab and dramatic lighting. 3) They got Jonah out of the car and *swoooooooooon* I fell in-love!

Jonah is the smartest 14 month old. Ever. He knows where his brain, heart, tongue and other numerous body parts are and gives the most endearing kisses in the world. My favorite was the question “Jonah, where’s your heart?” Because this was his sweet response…

We started our sunrise session in Jonah’s grandparent’s back yard. I’m thinking of renting it our for future shoots….it is BEAUTY-full!!! In the back yard is a playhouse that Jonah’s mommy and aunts played in when they were little. It was one of Jonah’s favorite things to do.

He LOVED that slide!

Wanna play? How in the world could you possibly say no to this face? EVER? He’s “scoop-up-and-love-on” worthy!!

Right as the rain started to roll into town, we packed up and headed back to Jonah’s house. I was in-LOVE with their kitchen!!! I sat down and immediately started shooting, the light, the color, the texture…I was in photo heavennnn. Jonah’s kitty Alton came in for his close up too. They are buddies. 🙂

So remember how I told you that cloudy and rainy days can make for dramatic lighting? It’s something that I LOVE and embrace on the days that I get it. However, if we’re shooting indoors, we do need to stay near windows to get as much light as possible. How perfect-o that Jonah had this amaze window seat to play in.

Lower lighting allows me to pull out some beautiful grain in a yummy black and white photo as well. One of my faves!

Seriously…such a BEAUTY-full family.

Thank you SO much for hanging out with me so bright and early guys!! It was a pleasure to meet your sweet and loving family and I hope we get to do it again soon! xoxo
