So engagement sessions are quickly becoming one of my fave things to photograph. I don’t know if it’s because I have such AWWWWWWESOME brides in 2013 (duh.) or if it’s the weather lately, or if it’s the money lighting I keep getting blessed with. No matter…I’m in-love with next year’s couples.
This adorable, University of Michigan loving, couple is no exception. I actually grew up with Elizabeth in the same church back in Grand Haven, MI. So when she contacted me to photograph her wedding in our childhood church…I obvi couldn’t wait to say YES! YES! YES!! Elizabeth and John are both U of M grads and now reside in Buckeye country. I’m a transplant here too, so we have many common bonds. 😉 On the evening of their session, we were dodging major thunderstorm clouds and working in almost 90 degree heat and 100% humidity. You wouldn’t know it by looking at these two. (Me on the other hand…drowned rat. Such a flattering look.)
As always, here are my faves from their sesh. You guys are incredibly cute together.
If I had to give out a best smile award…it would go to John. So handsome!
When they asked if they could bring along their dog, Hektor…I said, “heck yeah!” I love pets and would never tell anyone no…just not in my nature. I’m glad I said that because Elizabeth followed up with “we’re pretty much obsessed with him.” And why wouldn’t they be?
This next one was almost your sneak peek…it’s a total FAVE!
Having a doggie along for a session is very similar to having a two year old. You can give as much instruction as you want, but you just have to wait. Be patient….annnnnd wait until they stand exactly where you want them to.
Elizabeth…you are freaking GORG!!!!! I love, love, love your hair. Women pay big $$$ to have that wavy beach look. Lucky girl. You will be one of the most beautiful brides!
This one is hands down my favorite. And one of the last ones we snapped. I saw the hazy sunset through the tree branches and yelled “STOP RIGHT THERE! NOW CUDDLE!” And booooom. This is what we got.
Congratulations you two!!! I can’t WAIT for the wedding next June! I had so much fun on your e-sesh night. Thank you for braving the heat, humidity, and my famous last line “ok, last one. Promise.” xoxo
