I must start this post out with one very true fact: I was Thee. And I mean THEE. Dress Up Queen as a child. If it sparkled, I wore it. If it had a high heel, I put it on. If it could somehow be interpreted as “long hair” (t-shirts were good, but slips were my fave), I’d put it on my head and request that my mother put it in a pony tail. I spent hours upon hours in dress up attire. And by following Melissa on Instagram, I became obsessed with her hashtag #thegracieshow. Why? Because in Grace, I’ve finally met my match. This girl wakes up in dress up clothes. I’m not sure if she ever takes them off. And I adore her for it. I texted Melissa one day and said “We are ending your family shoot with an episode of “The Gracie Show”. Dress up galore!” Or something awesome like that. She was on board and these are some of my favorite images. Trust that is was suuuuuper hard to narrow them all down. At one point I think I had 30 images selected for your blog. Tough job here!
We started out bright and early, because the light is pretty and three year olds and their baby sisters are happy early in the morning. 😉 You all looked FAB by the way.
Big time faves coming up!
You two are so fun. I absolutely love this photo of you guys.
When we moved inside to start The Gracie Show, Melissa had set it up so that she would find “new” items to play with. This made it more exciting than just another round of dress up play. Every girl in the world loves putting something new on. Even if she’s only three!
Oh those curls!
When this started happening…I lost it. Look out American Ballet Academy. Gracie’s coming!
Viv woke up from a nap and joined in the fun. There is nothing I love more than a baby milk mouth.
I consider myself to be good with kids. I’m outgoing. Friendly. I think I’m very funny – just ask my husband. And most importantly, I’m comfortable around them. I’m sure I was telling Grace and Viv how great their band sounded and was cheering them on enthusiastically during this portion of the “show”. However I must have made an unthinkable song request…because Grace shot me a look she has perfected. And I’m sure will continue to perfect. Well into her teens. 😉
Obvi…I had a total ball doing this shoot with you guys. Thank you so much for letting me play dress up and watching an episode of “The Gracie Show”. It was everything I wanted it to be and more! You guys are the best!! xoxo
