From the moment I stepped onto the Dellinger Family Property, my ooooh-ing and ahhhhh-ing didn’t stop. Nancy & Mike, your wedding day was perfection.
Nancy did her make up in the same spot she sat and did her make up every day before school. This is why I love it when bride’s get ready in the house they grew up in.
A humongous, giant thank you to my great friend and second shooter Jenny of Jenny Barnes Photography. You helped me be in two places at once. xoxo
Check out these kicks. I die.
And then it was time for The Dress. Nancy, you are simply. Stunning. I mean, woah.
My personal favorite part of the day: The First Look. It is such an incredibly special moment between two people who are about to commit to a lifetime together. I tear up every time I’m privileged enough to witness one.
Mike, I love this one of you. Hottie groom!
If I were to have sisters, I’d want three beautiful ones that I could hug and squeeze on my own wedding day. Seriously girls…you’re gorgeous!
And then it was time to get married.
NEWLYWEDS!!!! Woot woot!!! Nancy & Mike had guests shower them with confetti. Which I freaking LOVED!!
I snuck away with the wedding party for some funnnnnnn. I think you can tell from these photographs that we had a really awful time. 😉
Nancy, I love, LOVE, love that your girls picked out their own dresses. Supa fine!! And that guy…third one in from the right. You MADE this picture awesome buddy, thank you.
Your decor? GORG!!! I couldn’t stop taking photos of it.
The dances get me every time.
Just before the sun went down, I stole Nancy & Mike away for just a few more photos together. While I was shooting, my mind was exploding with how amazingly perfect everything was. The light, the setting, this GORGEOUS couple. I’m sure I fist pumped more than twice.
And then…we partied.
I find this photo hilarious. Those two ladies on the left? You made my night!
This guy Broke. It. Dowwwwwwn. I’m pretty sure it was to a Backstreet Boys song. Which makes this even cooler. Judging by everyone’s reaction, I really should have taken video instead of a photo.
I’m running out of words for how much I adore you two and for how honored I felt to be a part of your fantastic day. From the bottom of my heart, congratulations. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. And like I said…perfection.
And now it’s time for the Wedding Day Rewind! A few thoughts and comments from our bride and groom in their own words.
What is your most favorite memory of your wedding day?
Nancy: Seriously, there are so many to choose from… At the top of the list would have to be later in the reception when we went off to take dusk pictures with Megan and Jenny on the dock of the pond. I loved having one more private moment with Mike dancing to the music from afar and taking in the moment. It was a tremendously humbling and beautiful sight to see our very favorite family and friends breaking it down on the dance floor and enjoying each other’s company
Mike: Honestly, my favorite memory was getting ready prior to the ceremony with my groomsmen and all the excitement that had accrued from the previous weeks during preparations.
What do you remember most about your First Look?
Nancy: I remember the look on Mike’s face and the biggest and best hug of my life. I was overwhelmed with emotions. I knew then, more than ever, how true and right this all was and how remarkable the rest of the day would be.
Mike: I remember Nancy’s hands suddenly covering my eyes from behind and having no idea what her dress would look like… then I turned around and it was everything that I could have imagined.
How did you feel before walking down the aisle? Waiting for her?
Nancy: Excited. We had already done a First Look, but it in no way took away from the special moment of walking down the aisle towards Mike. It was so special to spend a few minutes alone with my dad and when I saw Mike, I could barely contain myself from (again) running down the aisle. I felt like I couldn’t be any happier or smile any bigger than I was; I’m seriously a lucky girl.
Mike: You know that tight, rock-hard smile that you make when something makes you so happy and there is nothing that can reverse it and your cheeks start cramping because they are pretty much touching your eyebrows? Well that’s what I was feeling, and I don’t think that smile left my face for hours.
What was the funniest thing that happened on your wedding day?
Nancy: The day was full of happiness and laughing all around, but I have to say the funniest moment that comes to mind was when all of us girls were getting ready, my girlfriend, Anne, was holding our newest niece, Daphne. Daphne, barely a month old at the time, is absolutely adorable and has the sweetest features. We all took our turns snuggling her, which may have contributed to her being jostled around a little too much. So, Anne was holding Daphne not long after a feeding when Daphne spit up directly into Anne’s mouth. We were all in tears (even Anne – after cleaning up a bit) from laughing so hard and little Daphne made her mark on the day.
Mike: The funniest thing that happened was probably my Dad (Tom Sulens) dancing to Return of The Mack. He thought he was too cool for school dancing to it and it showed… and by showed I mean many phone cameras have logged the event.
If you could do it all again, would you change anything?
Nancy: Honestly, as cliché as I feel like this sounds, I wouldn’t change a single thing. The day was perfect – from the crazy fun, chaotic day getting ready to the few sprinkles of rain right before the ceremony and the intimate time with our favorite people to the awesome dance party – it was simply the B-E-S-T. I feel so blessed to not only have landed Mike, but to have such an awesome support group around us on the best day ever.
Mike: I had the time of my life. Wouldn’t change a thing.
