Stephanie & Zack | Grand Haven, Michigan | Wedding Photography

Before I get to the amazing-ness below. Let’s address the obvious…don’t you L-O-V-E my new space?? I think of it as finally moving into my new home. So let’s take a quick tour. First, my new name. As much as it pained me to leave MNR Photography behind, I wanted to incorporate my new married name. I also wanted a way to start fresh as a full time photographer. So a name change was in order. I like it. With a name change, comes a new look. Ummm helloooooooooo awesome new brand. I love it. A huge-ginormous-thank-you-doesn’t-seem-to-cut-it thank you to Ryan Hunley of Second Street Creative. You are many things, but the ones that come to mind immediately are patient, a great therapist, majorly talented, and worth every penny. I really can’t thank you enough for helping me find me through a new look, logo and blog. Bless you!

So take a look around! My new fall 2013 pricing is available and if you still want to book a fall session, you better do it fast. I have 3 spots left through the end of November and they are all Friday morning sessions. All weekends are booked! (OMG!)

I’ve been saving this wedding to be my first launching blog post. So huge thank you hugs to Steph and Zack for your patience. Now let’s get down to business.

When I shoot in Michigan, I always have Karen second shoot with me. She is amazing and knows what I’m thinking at all times. Thank you for letting me be in two places at once Karen. I adore you! xoxo

Once of the many things I love about this couple is how wonderful their families and friends are. Steph and Zack were surrounded by people who love them all day long. It made me teary more than once.

Steph you are GORG-eous!!! Serious. Stunning.

Speaking of teary…Steph did a First Look with her dad. Not a dry freaking eye in that house. Maybe even on the whole block. It was one of those moments that I will never forget as a photographer. It was perfect.

Oh, you don’t know what Butch’s Beach Burritos are? And you’ve never had one?!? Then you don’t know what you’re missing. Ask any Grand Haven local if they’ve stood in line for over an hour to get a BBB on opening day. The answer is yes.

It was time to see her groom.

One of my favorites!

Let’s go get married!

I loved how the groomsmen held onto their ladies. It was such a sweet gesture. I’m sure no one told them to do that…they’re just that good. 😉

This is one of my favorite bubble pictures ever.

This bunch? Super sweet, super close, super awesome wedding party.

Hey groomsmen!! Lookin’ good!

This is one of my favorites! Girls…You. Are. FABULOUS!

Dinner, dancing and cocktails! Among BEAUTY-full decor! The ballroom looked breathtaking.

Over 2,000 hand painted and crafted, paper roses were the focal point. To die for!

I love a good wedding party introduction. You guys nailed it.

Talk about teary. Every toast either had tears of laughter or tears of happy joy. Told ya this crew was close.

It looks like Steph and her dad did a normal, typical Father-Daughter-Dance. Oh contraire. Watch this.

I was losing my  mind!! Steph is a fantastic dancer – obvi. And so is her wedding party! They spent the week prior choreographing this and keeping it a secret from Steph’s mom. The only photo Stephanie requested was her mother’s reaction to the surprise. I think we got it. And good. 😉

I love fun dancing photos. And when you have a wedding where everyone loves to dance. You’re gonna get some GREAT ones.

I stole the beautiful couple away for a few more portraits with the setting sun. Man I adore you two! So perfect, happy and oh-so-in-love! This one? My absolute favorite. Hands down. This needs blown up to epic proportions and displayed proudly in your home. (In my opinion.) 😉

I’m a patio die-hard. Even better if the patio is filled with friends, laughter and cocktails. And money-ball light from the setting sun. Win. Win.

PERFECTION!! Congratulations you two!! Hope the wait was worth it. 😉 Thanks for being the first blog post on 😉 xoxo

Wedding Day Rewind

What is your most favorite memory from your wedding day?
Steph: I would have to say my favorite memory is the father/daughter/wedding party dance. To add to that memory, we all met at the dance studio after the rehearsal dinner to practice. I had to help my brothers lie to my mom which is NEVER easy! Good thing my dad was on “the inside” to help us out.
Zack: My favorite memory of the wedding day was the wedding party dance and celebrating with friends at the reception.

What do you remember most about your First Look?
Steph:  He looked so handsome all dressed up but, what I remember most is exchanging letters with each other. It was a great reminder of all the memories we had made together and how there are still so many more to come.
Zack: The thing I remember most is finally getting to see Steph after waiting so long to see her in her dress.
How did you feel before the First Look?
Steph: I remember thinking I was going to be really nervous but the second I saw Zack waiting with his back turned, I wasn’t nervous at all. I knew that it was finally the moment I had been waiting SO long for.
Zack: I felt pretty nervous before the First Look, I think at that point it was starting to become a little more real to me.
How did you feel before walking down the aisle? Waiting for her?
Steph: I felt like I was in a dream. I was very excited but it felt so surreal. All I could focus on was Zack standing at the end of the aisle, I don’t even remember seeing any other people until after the ceremony was over.
Zack: I was excited while I was standing up and waiting for Steph. At this point most of the nerves had gone away and I was just happy and excited.
What was the funniest thing that happened on your wedding day?
Steph: The funniest thing that happened was definitely when our friends Kyle and Andy sat us down on the dance floor and sang “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” a cappella for us.
Zack: I think that the funniest thing that happened was when we went out for some fast food after the reception because we were both so hungry!
If you could do it all again, would you change anything?
Steph: I wouldn’t change a thing. It was fantastic. We are blessed to have had the opportunity to have such a wonderful wedding and share it with so many people that love us.
Zack:I don’t know that there is anything that I would change, everything went very smoothly and we were both very pleased.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Caribbean cruise with stops in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel
