Cassie & Devin | Columbus, OH | Wedding Photography

This wedding was at the Columbus Museum of Art. Can you say goooooooooorgeous!?! I was so excited to be a part of it. But mostly, I was just excited to hang out with this couple. They are beautiful, fun, laid-back, happy and oh-so-in-love. Here are my favorites from the day.

Cassie and her girls spent the morning getting ready together. I love the energy when I arrive at these times. Reminds me of Friday nights getting ready with 12 sorority girls all crammed into one bathroom. Fun, laughter, stuff everywhere, but mostly just fun.

I was obsessed with her dress. I couldn’t stop shooting it.

It was time to see her groom. First Look. I freaking LOVE this photo. Cassie and Devin, your expressions are so on point with your personalities. It makes my heart swell!

So time out. I have to tell the First Look story. As Cassie came out the door of the hotel to walk up to Devin, the wind took her beautiful veil off. I chased it down the alley. I caught it and attempted to put it back on her. My dang hands kept getting tangled in the veil and I couldn’t find the bobbi pin. I knew Devin was dying (As Jenny of Jenny Barnes Photography informed us that we were “killing him!”) So I said, “Just go without it.” And she says “But it’s my favorite part.” At that, I felt myself turn into Super Woman. Like come hell or high water, I was jamming this veil on her beautiful head of perfect hair and she was going to go and get her groom wearing her most favorite part of her bridal get up. So I did. And I asked “Is that ok?” And Cassie’s response “Uh yeah. It feels really secure.” That’s because I felt that bobbi pin snag almost every hair on her head. I’m sure it hurt. But it was on there. Wind be damned. 😉

Huge thank you to Jenny for always being amazing and helping me to be in two places at once. Love ya sister.

It was time to get married.

NEWLYWEDS!!! This is one of my favorite celebration photos ever. Cassie, you are so adorable.

Helloooooo good lookin’ wedding party!!

Favorite!

LOVE this! Another one of my favorites.

The decor at the reception was jaw dropping. AMAZING.

Those martini salads? To die for. Carol at Made From Scratch serves the most delicious food. Ever. I do a little fist pump when my brides tell me she’s catering their event. You would too.

Oh and this cake? Are you kidding me?!? I stood in awe of it.

Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs.

On both sides, the love in these families was overwhelming. It reminds me of what an honor it is to do what I do. And again…you two are dang cauuuuuuute!

Devin you have the best smile.

And you had plenty of reasons to smile on your big day, but the BIGGEST smile came when his new wife surprised him with his awesome groom’s cake.

Good job Cass. Good job. 😉 And then…they danced.

I loooooooooove a grainy black and white. Weddings scream romance all on their own, but add in black and white and a touch of grain? Hello gorgeous!

Devin and his boys did a special serenade. I think to the musical talents of *NSYNC? Maybe Backstreet Boys? None the less…it was awesome.

I just love you two! Your day was incredible! I had such a wonderful time and I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of it. Congratulations, I wish you the best. xoxo

Wedding Day Rewind
What is the most vivid memory from your wedding day?

C: For me, it would have to be listening to the beautiful toasts given by our family and friends. Their words really meant a lot to both of us, and it felt like we were the only people in the room. We are really lucky to have such amazing people in our lives 🙂
D: Definitely the ceremony. The entire day went so fast, but that was the one moment where we could focus only on each other.

What do you remember most about your First Look?

C: When Megan and I first walked out of the hotel and my veil flew off my head and down the alley! I was so nervous and emotional going to the First Look, but seeing Megan and Jenny running around after my veil and knowing Devin was SO confused (he was turned around and couldn’t see what the commotion was about) was just silly enough to put me at ease.
D: I remember her veil blowing off when she walked outside and having to wait until it was fixed. I could hear her behind me and it was so difficult to not turn around. The anticipation was awful!

Who do you think had the most fun at your wedding?

C: I definitely had the most fun at the ceremony – I was SO happy and excited that I couldn’t even stand still while saying our vows! Devin probably had more fun at the reception since his secret desire in life is to be a professional hip hop dancer (although my cousin Bella gave him a run for his money!).
D: Us! It was our day, and everything was just as we had imagined it.

What was the funniest thing that happened at your wedding?

C: It is impossible to choose just one! When my dad whisper-yelled at Dev to take his hands out of his pockets during the ceremony… When my veil flew off right before Dev was supposed to turn around for the First Look and we made him stand there and wait while Megan chased the veil down the street… Devin’s face when I presented his groom’s cake… Adam’s awkward attempt at a dirty joke during his Best Man speech… When I had to throw my bouquet 3 times before it was catch-able…
D: The groom’s cake presentation. The cake, the song, and my wife dancing in a Cubs jersey was all unexpected.

What song did you have the most fun dancing to?

C: If wiggling counts as dancing, then definitely the Chicago Cubs theme song when I brought out the groom’s cake!
D: Billy Jean.

If you could do it again, what would you change?

C: I wouldn’t change a single thing about the wedding – it was my perfect dream day!
D: Nothing. I wish I could have made it last longer though.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
