Tessa is 7 months | Columbus Ohio Family Photography

First Year photography is one of my favorite things to photograph. (Deja vu! I feel like I’ve started a blog post out like this…except maybe I said newborn photography…or wedding photography…or engagement sessions. Nonetheless…every session is unique in it’s own right and I have favorite parts about each. What I love about First Year photography is how I get to see a family grow in such a short period of time. I’ve fallen off track. ALREADY!) Now what I looooooooooooved, loved, loved about THIS particular session is that we went super, super casual and did a “living room” session. We just played. And it is one of my favorite sessions to date. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Jonah is the best big brother. He melted my heart over and over.

Time out…now this photo. Imagine you are Jonah and Tessa thirty years from now, possibly looking at this photo with their own children. Julian and Lindsay this is a piece that shows what goooooood, fun, loving parents you are. What a happy home you are creating. It gives me big happy tears just looking at it. I’ve been told by talented photographers and mentors to photograph with thirty year goggles on. (Bobbi + Mike, check ’em) Photographing interaction, love and happiness is as important, if not more important, than just a pretty portrait. At least at Megan Danser Photography. 😉

I’m pretty sure Jonah was in the middle of telling me an important story. Maybe it was about Duckie’s full name. Tessa thought it was hilarious.

Rachel Roberts - I just love the genuineness of shooting a family in all of their glory at home. The family having tea together is precious. So many memories are made at home and it feels like the perfect freeze frame for what life is like right now!

Molly - MEGAN. HOLY MOLY. Normally I don’t have a hard time narrowing in on a favorite, but honestly, with every image I was like, “Oh! This one! No, wait! This one! Nope! THIS one!” I love everything about this session, Meg. Every last little thing. Also: Their house looks like it’s straight out of a magazine. 😀 BEAUTIFUL!
