My first wedding of the year! In Palmetto, Florida!! Whaaaattt!! I feel so crazy lucky that I was chosen to document this beautiful wedding, in a beautiful place with an amazing couple who had the BEST family and friends. It was next to impossible to narrow down my favorite images. Enjoy them!
So this Bed & Breakfast…where do I even begin? The details, the charm, the food. Everything is 5 star all the way. If you’re traveling to Palmetto, you must stop in and see Wim & Meike at the Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast. You’re welcome in advance. And a big huge thank you to one of my besties and partners in crime, for traveling with me and being the best. So glad you were able to make the trip with me Jenny.
Lauren!!! That bird cage veil!!! That dress!!! YOUR SMILE!!!! I know Jenny and I screamed and squealed enough to last you a lifetime….but can’t you see WHY!?!? Ahh! SO BEAUTIFUL!!! One of my favorites!

DAN + LAUREN
:: From Dan ::
Your wedding day in 5 words :: THE BEST DAY EVER!
Funniest moment :: Watching Lauren’s Step Mother dancing like she was 20 yrs old again.
Most emotional memory :: Our first look. I cried more than I thought I ever would.
Advice for future Brides & Grooms :: DO WHAT YOU WANT, don’t let others tell you what to do. Plan it how you want, and make it yours.
Do anything different :: Not a thing.
:: From Lauren ::
Your wedding day in 5 words :: Perfect, stunning, relaxing, organized, fun!
Funniest memory :: With my previous life in theater, it should have come as no surprise that a high school friend and I ended up doing an entire lip sync to Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby.” It was hilarious. I can’t imagine what my family was thinking!
Most emotional memory :: Our first look was amazing. We had such a leisurely day, as everything got done sooner than expected. Then suddenly it was time to (finally) get going. It didn’t really hit me until I turned the corner and saw Dan standing with his back to me. I literally took three steps and was overcome with emotion. I finally made it to him, but was crying too much to even have him turn around. I remember resting my head on his back until I could compose myself. It finally felt real.
Advice for future Brides & Grooms? 1. Plan ahead as much as possible – it’s far better to have things done and have to to wait to use them than the opposite! 2. Do things the way you want and in a way that reflects your style. We “broke” so many of the “rules” – for instance, I firmly believe that garter tossing is unsanitary and clicking glasses for kisses is irritating for everyone – and we were very happy with how everything turned out. 3. Location, location, location! The ideas I had in my head initially were all wrong for the stunning location we chose. We decided that location/setting/atmosphere was our biggest priority, and that informed our other decisions.
Do anything different :: Not a thing!
:: MUSIC ::
First Dance :: 1. All of Me – John Legend (Lauren’s choice), 2. Ain’t that a kick in the head – Dean Martin (Dan’s choice)
Father Daughter Dance :: What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong
:: VENDORS ::
Ceremony & Reception :: www.palmettoriverside.com
Florist :: I bought silk flowers from Michael’s
DJ :: John Rinell Entertainment – www.johnrinell.com
Paper/invites :: I bought a template on Etsy then adjusted it for.
Cake :: Publix grocery store! We tried some mini cannoli when we arrived the week before and they were delicious. So we ordered mini cannoli and a six-inch cake for cutting. It worked out perfectly!
Caterer :: We ordered cold food trays from Mazzaro’s Italian Market in St. Pete. We only had to order three days in advance, so we did it once we arrived a week early. The guys picked them up the day of the wedding and we hired a server from Maid2Party to hear them up and transfer to chafing dishes. (We also hired a bartender from the same company.)
The Dress :: I think Mori Lee. I found it at Wendy’s Bridal in Columbus, OH. I had been to David’s Bridal and Alfred Angelo but didn’t find the perfect dress. I went in to Wendy’s ind afternoon by myself and explained the venue and let the woman pick out three dresses for me. The first one was exactly perfect for me. Simple, elegant, easy, and it had pockets!
Hair & Makeup :: We hired one hair person and one makeup person to come to the BnB and do me, 2 bridesmaids, and my stepmom. They scheduled four hours to complete everything but we’re so efficient that we were all done in two! We had three hours of down time until we had to get dressed! It was great!
Wedding coordinator :: Me! 🙂
