How They Met :: (as told by Michele) we worked out together at the gym on my very first day and it took tony a year after that to pay any attention to me. After we went on our first date to the blue jackets playoff game against Pittsburgh penguins we became inseparable. The rest is happy history!
How He Asked :: (As told by Tony) I had planned to ask her over Labor Day weekend while we were visiting her family in Maryland. Her mom and sister had put together a surprise engagement party at a restaurant in downtown Annapolis but Michele simply thought we were going out to eat with her parents. The weather was great and my plan was to ask her to marry me at this amazing spot at the innermost part of the harbor that overlooks the bay as we were walking to the restaurant. What I didn’t plan on was a ton of traffic that day which made our cab have to change our route to downtown and ended up dropping us off right in front of our destination. Michele barely ate anything that day and was starving and just glad to be at the restaurant finally but I had to think quick in order to get her to where I planned to propose. I made up a lie about wanting to get a couple pictures of the bay while it was nice and asked if we could walk over there really quick before dinner. While she responded with “fine”, it was in a tone that let me know if I took a second too long, I’d be walking back home to Ohio. We got to the spot, I took a few pictures and then get down on one knee. I was so nervous I’m not sure what I said exactly but I know at one point I got the words out “Will you marry me?”. She immediately said yes I was so relieved that I almost forgot to put the ring on her finger. We hugged, kissed, enjoyed the moment and quickly made our way to the restaurant. Inside our family and friends were waiting to surprise her and celebrate and the look of shock on her face when we walked in made the months of planning all worth it (Michele is a world class “snoop” and almost impossible to keep a secret from). The whole evening was perfect and it’s a day neither of us will ever forget.
